Tranzport mission is to supply world class technology solutions to the heavy industry transportation market by connecting shippers and carriers in a desktop and mobile freight management platform. In an industry where paper, faxes and phone calls have been the norm, Tranzport has created market-leading technology that helps shippers find quality carriers for the job, and helps carriers find better paying freight.
Together with Aerolab, I led the UX and UI process to tell the story of how the company is changing the way freight transportation works. The approach was to speak directly to carriers and shippers in order to highlight the main benefits for each user.
The main challenge was to recognize the client communication objectives to develop a flexible website that fits with every user’s needs. In addition, we had to be aware of creating a system that adapts for every mobile device screen.
We started working on the user journey to understand visitors needs through every stage of the website. After validating our decisions we focused on articulating the information architecture.
The second phase was to design a prototype of the website based on the information obtained on the discovery step. We started crafting ideas by hand and then we moved to hi-fi wireframes that helped us to have a first approach of the visual path for the website.
For the UI phase, we made tons of tests and research with the client to define the right typography, color palette and images.
Once we defined the visual path we took the wireframes and user flow to create a clean and intuitive website that reflects Tranzport’s values and main solutions of the product based on customers needs.
